Tulip Time Festival welcomes Grammy-nominated artist Jonny Lang www.jonnylang.com! Speaking often with his guitar in the language of deep blues and searing rock & roll this former prodigy instrumentalist, topped the Billboard New Artist charts at age 15. While kids his age were still playing high school gigs, Lang was touring with giants like the Rolling Stones and Aerosmith, trading licks with mentors like B.B. King and Buddy Guy, and being lauded by U.S. News and World Report for having “the voice of a grizzled blues veteran… and guitar skills to match.”

Opening for Lang is Chicago-based artist Trevor Menear (www.trevormenear.com). On Menear’s self-titled debut, he conjures up images of his musical heroes Stevie Ray Vaughan and Duane Allman, while creating his own accessible blues pop hybrid. His expressive voice is bolstered by his plangent, nuanced guitar work that belies his young age.
