Tulip Time Festival Luncheon Announced
Formerly Governor’s Luncheon
HOLLAND, MI – April 10, 2008. Tulip Time Festival (www.tuliptime.com) officials are pleased to announce that Miss America 2008, Kirsten Haglund, will be joining the Holland community during this year’s festival. She will be the special guest speaker during the Tulip Time Festival Luncheon to be held at the Dow Center, Hope College on Wednesday, May 7. A Michigan native, Kirsten is from Farmington Hills and is currently on a national speaking tour working toward increasing awareness and community action for her Miss American platforms. Doors open at 11:00am, the luncheon begins at 11:45am. Tickets are $35 per person and are currently available for purchase through the Tulip Time Festival office located at 238 South River Ave, Holland or by calling 1.800.822.2770 and online April 15, 2008 at www.tuliptime.com. Seating is limited.
The Miss American organization is one of the leading achievement programs and the world’s largest provider of scholarship assistance for young women. In 2007 the Miss America Organization made available more than $45 million in cash and tuition scholarship assistance at the local, state, and national levels. The Miss America Organization provides young women with a vehicle to further their personal and professional goals and instills a spirit of community service through a variety of unique nationwide community–based programs.

In addition to Miss America’s presentation, she will also display her winning vocal talents with a special singing performance. Following the luncheon Miss America will be participating in the Volksparade.
Governor Granholm is unable to attend this year’s annual luncheon due to a scheduling conflict.
